One of my favorite places in Minneapolis and it's different every time I'm there. The best part of the picture, is that it's a dark tunnel and I took it without a tripod. It was a big suprise how this turned out once I took it home.
This is a cool image I hope I can add to. My roommate and I drove out into the country the other night in an effort to try to take star pictures. Something we had no experience with. I've had a few failed attempts at the moon in the past, but that's it. A few lessons were learned and we hope to get back out there soon. But for now, I present, The Big Dipper.
I headed out to Prescott, WI last fall to sell a camcorder on Craigslist. I brought my cousin along with me and we had a little photo shoot down by the river.
Another photo from my afternoon adventure last fall in Wisconsin. This photo was me attempting to fake HDR with one singular image. It's not flawless but still really neat.
The color version was a happy accident from the indented result. As a matter of fact, most of the photos I took that night of this scene were happy accidents. These is some bold colors here and that's not Photoshop, it's what my camera picked up. There are others is a greater range but this one hits a little closer to the indented result.
I might have a few of these. There was something about the LED umbrella at night that was so compelling to me. How the dim light reacted with the interesting objects beneath it was in a way, beautiful. I made this one black and white to capture just the light. There is a lot going on in the color versions and I wanted to show just show this set simple up in a photograph.
Shot from behind Minnehaha Falls, this photo is the 2013 Friends of of Inver Glen Art Contest fan favotire winnner.
The final print for the black and white project I was working on. The end result was quite large but there was a lit of details the black and white brought out I wanted to show. The panorama is the main focus with the supplement photos below giving the place depth and prospective.
I headed out to Prescott, WI last fall to sell a camcorder on Craigslist. I brought my cousin along with me and we had a little photo shoot down by the river. This photo was edited with the idea I could fake HDR. There is some noise int he details but it kind of worked. I made three copies of this file and changed one to be over and the other to be under exposed and went from there. It' snot flawless but a neat photo none the less.
I headed out to Prescott, WI last fall to sell a camcorder on Craigslist. I brought my cousin along with me and we had a little photo shoot down by the river. The train rolls by on the bridge every 20 minutes it seemed. With the sun starting to set, I just had tocatch this moment.
Christmas time is here! As we wrap up 2014 I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the year. For me, it was all development on my business skills. Creatively I didn't do or release much but I still grew a lot as a person. I know live in a new place, with new experiences. Hopefully this will inspire me to try new things and give me new environments to photograph. I appreciate everyone's love and support!

I have rarely touched my camera this year. For those who know me, this year has not played out as I intended. It was suppose to be a huge year for photos and videos. Yet, this is the first free spirited photo I took with the intent to show off since the last HDR I did at the end of winter. If it isn't obvious, I love HDR and Minnesota falls are the best time to do it. Sure, it's kind of an easy project for myself to take on but generates a collection the more I do it. We are at the very beginning of the color change, I just hope life grants me the chance to take a few more this year.
A little HDR photo I took today in Minnesota's first real above freezing day in two and a half months. (2/18/14) The settings used here are the opposite of what I usually shoot for in an HDR photo. A soft, hazy glow creates a nice dream state image as opposed to the more sharp, harsh looking images I've tried in the past.
I'll admit, these last few months have been good to me. Holidays in my line of work can be stressful and compromising. I was fortunate enough to enjoy the times that mattered most as I wrapped up 2014. I then entered 2015 on an adventure. I let out my inner child for a week and did whatever my heart desired. I left issues back at home and didn't let them get to me while I conquered theme parks for 5 days.
This photo was taken at the Epcot Center in Walt Disney World. I had a few opportunities to take out my camera when I wasn't screaming like a six year old. Of the dozens of pictures I took I didn't expect this to turn into anything. But that's the magic of HDR, it can do the unexpected.
Now I am back home and the adventure is over. But now I am motivated to pursue a career that makes me happy, and allows me to do as I please when I'm off. So here's to 2015! Let it be full of adventure.
